The greatest theorem of the 20th century. Gödel’s theorem was not only fundamental to mathematics but, having become popular at every level, it inspired works of art, scientific discoveries, and inventions. I approached this illustration with the intention of conceptually representing Gödel’s view of mathematics as something not “closed,” something that can never be fully contained within a box — a vision that, to me, seemed to suggest a certain “fluidity” in mathematics.
